Shared Memories

This is the only painting in this series for which I used a Burnt Umber panel instead of black. I wondered if it would be easier to get the marble's transparency. It might have been, but I think I still prefer the contrast of the black ground. One last painting in this series tomorrow.
Oil on panel, 6" x 6"

Under the Brushes

Burnt Umber
down under,
the background
nice for round
marbles; hey
highlights play.

The art works, your skills present, very nice spherical atmosphere, atmospherical, with cat's eyes and clearsies.

I am also feeling like Susan (from the comment thread on the previous post), and, personally, I think the Burnt Umber addition is a winner. Your "glass" effect is also much truer, that is really hard to do - high five yourself. This last painting makes me want to touch the marbles - in my head I know it is a painting, but the effect is spot on, Brenda, I feel like they are waiting for me to grab them.
