Overshadowed

Gotta admit...this one and tomorrow's paintings are two of my recent favorites. I smiled the whole time I painted them.  I love that the vase and pear are similar in size and shape. They'll both be back for an encore tomorrow...

Leading the Eye
As the sunflower's flower flows
to the leaf and then to the leaf's
shadow on the pear, the pear that's
sitting next to the same-shaped vase,
which supports the flower above,
composition's overshadowed,
not.

Love the shadow of the leaf on the pear and the highlight on the vase. and as always you've rocked the background in a way that showcases the subject matter but also adds a teasing interest.

I am just now catching up on your art and I love everything you have done in this challenge! Your pears, (pear) are wonderful, and your sunflowers are so vibrant and.. stunning really! I love your backgrounds. Something I myself need to work on. I love your placement, trying to learn a bit fro your obvious talents!
